Studio Babelsberg congratulates Christoph Waltz on Golden Globe Award

18.01.2010

Christoph Waltz was awarded Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 67th Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Christoph Fisser, COO Studio Babelsberg and co-producer of Inglourious Basterds:
“We congratulate Christoph Waltz with all our hearts. Quentin Tarantino was casting for a long time for this role, looking for the right actor. It was more than a happy coincidence that he and Christoph Waltz met at the casting. The award proves that German-speaking actors are becoming more and more successful and shows how important international co-productions like Inglourious Basterds are to Germany as filming location. If Quentin Tarantino hadn’t shot his film in Germany, he probably would never have met Christoph Waltz.”
